Gibraltar Laboratories, Inc. is currently seeking an extraordinary candidate to join our team.  Are you one of the best at what you do? Would you like to join a growing leader in Contract Laboratory services and not worry about pharmaceutical layoffs and politics?  The successful candidate must have 15+ Years detailed experience and expert knowledge in all USP, EP, JP, ISO Microbiology tests. He or she will manage a group of 30 professional microbiologists. Preference will be to local candidates with recent Advanced degree.  In the next few years our well established, independent, small business will grow by more than 10% per year.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to be exposed to a broad range of interrelated skill sets involving both skill, regulatory trends and interdepartmental collaboration. You will interact in cross disciplinary teams composed of scientists from molecular biology, chemistry and microbiology.  The following goals will be used to evaluate the successful candidate:

This job is for those who like to learn by doing and enjoy hands-on work in a fast paced, detail oriented, exciting workplace. It is for those people who are stimulated by multidisciplinary quality control and research in a healthcare setting. You will be expected to be a fast and accurate worker.

Duties include

  • Supervision
  • Review and sign off on data
  • Training junior scientists
  • Miscellaneous tasks as needed within the department
  • Timely completion of testing and all associated CGMP documentation

Requirements

  • MS in microbiology
  • At least 15 years recent experience with in  industrial microbiology
  • Familiarity with FDA compliance requirements audit/data review helpful
  • Able to work independently without constant supervision as well as in a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Writing skills
  • Exceptional communication skills

We are  seeking an extraordinary Chemist to join our team.  Are you one of the best at what you do? Would you like to join a growing leader in contract laboratory services and not worry about pharmaceutical layoffs?  The successful candidate must have expert knowledge in broad FDA compendial chemistry. Preference will be two candidates with recent, expert knowledge with all HPLC/GC testing using Perkin Elmer Total chrom. Our well established, independent, small business is growing  by more than 10% per year.
In this position, you will be responsible for being a leader to help develop skills and proficiencies of team members by:
  1. Improving turnaround time by 1-2 days
  2. Preparing perfect laboratory documentation as per GMP such as protocols and certification reports.
  3. Masterfully performing wet chemistry as per USP
  4. Achieve flawless execution and demonstrate high initiative
  5. Training and GMP review of laboratory results of other chemists.
  6. Masterfully performing cleaning validations.

 Requirements
  • BS, BA [not in chemical engineering]
  • At least 5 years direct relevant experience performing wet chemistry and preparing lab documentation
  • Must have excellent oral and written English language skills

The successful candidate must have very strong and current knowledge in Microbiology and be excited to work in a fast paced learning environment. Preference will be to local candidates with recent expert and hands-on knowledge. Our well established, independent, small business is growing rapidly.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  1. Performing and managing complex and diverse technical microbiological assignments [not molecular biological]
  2. Improving turnaround time by 1-2 days
  3. Preparing perfect laboratory documentation as per GMP such as raw data, SOPS ,protocols and reports/certifications
  4. Achieve flawless execution and demonstrate high initiative.
This job requires that you quickly and accurately follow our SOPS and protocols. You will be expected to be fast and accurate worker.

  • You must live within 25 minutes of our Fairfield NJ location.
  • 5 years microbiological experience
  • This is a laboratory quality control bench position. You will perform aseptic experiments as per FDA and ISO guidelines.
  • You must be organized and possess excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • You must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills are required
  • Experience in Industrial and Molecular/Microbiology is required.
  • Experience in Chemistry data review is helpful.
  • Contract testing laboratory experience is a big plus.
